Cough , sputter, cough, busy, do, done, did!

Yep its that time of year again and its that time for me to contend with the bronchial asthma symptoms and they are hanging on!!! I will never EVER use oven cleaner again (I think that started all the problems!)..although I do have a clean oven and a very nice clean stove top and hooded vent. But this constant cough, drainage, and wheezing has got to go...

I had my youngest son's 2 sons for 3 days and it was thoroughly enjoyable. We played, ate, slept, played, ate, and slept more. We really had a good time. Jarrod Lee was so sweet in the mornings with that sweet wake up baby smile, and what's better than having sweet 3 year old Landyn (turned 4 year old) wake you up each morning with a smile and a hug. I was in Nana heaven !!!The boys played throughout the day, watched tv, and we all enjoyed eating. Alden came to play with Landyn 2 afternoons and man the scheming they did. I wish I had the forethought to tape them playing one afternoon and talking about turning the ripe ole age of 4. It was so hilarious listening to them talk about their ages and what all 4 year olds could do.  Jarrod Lee kept me on my toes, but he's a good baby(toddler I should say!)  and easily consoled and kept happy for the most part. And oh how easy they were to get down for naps and nights....just say its bedtime, take them and their snuggles to the room, say nite nite and the zzzzz's aren't long in following.  Landyn turned 4 that week and on Friday, we had a 5 person party. Me, Momma, the birthday boy; Landyn, Alden, and Jarrod Lee were all in attendance. We blew out the candles 5 times...(ok  it wasn't all Landyn, who needed to blow, it was more like Nana waiting to get the "just right picture".). We had cake and ice cream, opened and played with presents. It was a fun day. WE even had festive plates and napkins! We had a celebration and it was FUN! The boys get along so well and Landyn shares well and enjoyed the party. He got excited which was fun to see and share with the boys. No naps that afternoon..too much to do !

Hope you enjoyed the pix...we sure enjoyed the boys!

Scaredy Kat...that's me!

Do these things frighten or bother you?(picture above) I can honestly say..I am scared to death of those green/brown anole lizards!! I absolutely abhor them..they give me the heebeejeebees and chills. I avoid them as much as possible and sho nuff don't get close to them! SHUDDERS!!!

Yesterday, as I was walking into our laundry room....I saw something sail past my right shoulder and land with a "kersplat" on the floor in front of me! Instantly my lizard radar went off. He was right in front of me and on the floor crawling fast.I couldn't let him stay. I have to use that room religiously!!!

Picture this, chores done, sunlight filtering into the rooms, warm sunny dappled bed, and snoozing hubs lying across to obtain the illusive afternoon nap........then me backtracking into the hallway and screaming the entire time...."""EEEEEE!" P get up..P get up!!! I hate to wake you but I NEED your help..There is a lizard in the laundry room.!!!" Up he stumbles donning his sleep shorts (on wrong side out..told you I screamed!) and to the rescue; muttering as he passed.."he's gonna be hell to catch in that room you know?"...I was in the hallway keeping an eye on the creature as he walked by so I could tell him exactly where he was..(lizard radar, remember?)...I handed him the broom and  kept my distance. I could envision the pest going the opposite way into the hot water closet and never getting him out. Oh the mounds and mounds of laundry piling up because I could never go back into the laundry unless the culprit was caught. I told P exactly where the lil repitilian visitor was located. He stunned him with the broom, moved the stool , the basket, and tilted the ironing board..(that rooms holds lotsa useful tools)...and grabbed that brown lil invader and took him wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy outside to the fence to release him. Of course I still look every which way in that room now and worry (did I mention my back door is located in that room too and it is opened and closed many times a day. It opens up onto my little back porch and I have recently added rails to that area. The lizards love to perch and sun on those rails. Not good for a non lizard lover! I am careful going in and out and all my family knows of my great fear---they don't tease me with it either. IT IS  SERIOUS BUSINESS WITH ME!!! I cannot help my fear and I am not trying to over the phobia, so no need to comment on how to do so..it will stay with me till my demise I am afraid.

At any rate, my husband, my hero, saved the day and I am lizard free in the laundry room that I know of (please don't tell me they could be hiding, I don't want to know!) I could tell you more about my intense dislike of those things, but I think you got the picture..and I hope that's all I will be sharing about them...the pictures..yucky, icky, shudders, creepy crawlers...YUCK YUCK AND MORE YUCK!!!Sorry all you lizard lovers!SHIVERS......

(It took all I could do just to post these pictures that I found! even they give me the creeps!)

Its Another Saturday nite, but I got some bodies!

We had an enjoyable weekend. First of all, on Friday evening; we went out to eat at a local seafood restaurant. Imagine the joy of seeing two sweet lil boys walk in and be excited about seeing Nanny and Poppa at the place they were eating! It was soooo funny. Alden (my eldest son's youngest son) walks in and says;" Nanny, me not know you and Poppa come here to eat. I gonna sit wid you at ur table." and sat he did. He is always super excited to see his Poppa, but the best came when they had ordered dinner, and D was not at their table,Alden  just yells across the way..."Daddy your supper is here! Come eat!" Of course D did not react quickly enough so that warranted a visit to where his Dad was standing. He patted him on  the leg a couple of times to get his attention and again announced the food was ready. Alden always has a smile, a full blown burst of energy and and a great idea. I love his outlook on life!

Can you tell what we did the next evening?

SPARKLERS!!!!We lit a fire in the heatwave firepit, roasted "smarshmellows" and made smores and lotsa memories! For some reason, the boys recalled two boxes of sparklers and they were enjoyed till all fizz went out. Then we resorted to flashlights and a little flashlight tag untill the cold night air ran us all indoors. Of course, Nanny has a some problems running in the dark night without a hand to hold. (Can't take a chance turning that ankle over!) Once back inside and warm baths were given -  we put on the movie, MARMADUKE, neither one of the boys lasted ten minutes. It was lights out after all the fire building, outdoor cooking, cold fresh night air, and warming baths. Ahhhhhhh the joys of a blissful weekend!!!

Then today....I had the joys of lions, tigers, and bears OH MY!!!
it went more like dirt, grime and dust ahhhh LAWD!!! AS in keeping in step with those long ago schedules, today was laundry, and clean up day. Its a task I never take to very eagerly. I always want more time and I find that I drag more out to clean than energy  to clean it. My spunk tank always runs out before the chores do! And the more you clean, the more you see to clean. Ok long story short....my master bedroom is sooo clean and I keep going in there and looking at the sparkle and shine and all those lil dustbunnies no longer hiding out in the corners.

Will it last...NOPE....will it have to be done again...YEP.....maybe I will sparkle and shine another room on a day I slide on my ruby red slippers and gather my courage,  put my heart into  it,  Although some of you may be wondering now....nope..."I don't have a brain!!! } Please take me to the wizard.

Gaggles of Giggles and shopping bags

Hello All,
I thought I'd take pictures of my outing with two family members as we shared a day out. We had nothing on our agenda but time spent together, and once in their presence, the thought of taking pictures just vanished (even though I went prepared with camera and phone charged!!! ) We just have too much fun, talk incessantly, giggle, and catch up with what is going on in each others lives and giggle more.
Our first stop was a quaint new little store that hosted tons and tons of accessories. Everything from eye liner to cuff bracelets. Whatever was in fashion -  jewelry  or accessory wise . We had fun browsing and even purchased a few items. Next on the agenda was:  EATING...one of favorite things to do. The only problem was, more than half of Tallahassians had the same idea. We chose here:
But as I said..so did many others, but we didn't mind waiting. And wait we did till almost 1 pm. The place was packed but we were on a "day holiday" . We were not in a hurry, the time spent waiting was used to our advantage of course with more talking, giggling, and catching up. The food is always "YUMMO"! I ordered this:
Tour of Itlay
Chicken Parmaseian, Alfredo Noodle, Slice of Lasagna
And oh man was it toooo much for lunch, but I ate as much as  I wanted. Next we went shopping again with three more stops. We  mostly browsed, touched, exclaimed , and dreamed about future ideas of remodels. Next we stopped here after walking off our lunch in those 3 stores ( and each place was a big store!). Guess  what?? The light was on!!!

After refueling, we had a couple more stops and the evening was about over. We yakked more on our way home and we were all tired women. My hubby loves to hear all of us together. He says its like listening to a bunch of hens in a coop. He once tape recorded us while we had a luncheon in my home. All you could  hear were giggles, and an occasional word. But you could tell it was a very happy time. I love spending time with these girls. Pam and Patsy, thank you for the wonderful day. Hope we can do it again soon!

Another day....out of dollars!

This has been a swift week to me. On Monday, I had to go to Thomasville and take my hubs mom's laundry to her. She is experiencing some difficulty with a skin disorder. I have never heard of it but she says she is not in pain; although to me it appears painful. She was in a good mood, had a new book her daughter had brought her. I stopped at a local grocery and took her some fruit and some Nilla wafers. (ya know me..feed the soul and the belly!)

On Tuesday, I picked up Alden from school. Noah has an afterschool program he attends on Tuesday, so it was just us two. We went and got icecream from the DQ, mini blizzards. YUMMO! When we got in, we decided to spend some time outdoors, so we picked up sticks around two pecan trees. There were plenty as the trees had been shaken. At first it was fun, we piled the big ones and the little ones into a pile and it grew! We talked about making a fire later and roasting "smarshmellows". Alden always has good ideas. As we walked to the 2nd tree, he wanted to get all the big limbs as his muscles were stronger than a Nanny's! We talked as we picked up and oh the things you can learn from a 4 year old with a vivid imigination....(maybe I need to start recording some of his because it would be a best seller in years to come)...AS soon as he finished with the big sticks he told me he was ready to go inside. I should have done so right then, but the adult in me wanted to finish at least that tree. Well we did finish, came inside and he let out a big sigh, crashed in Poppa's chair and said "whewww weee Nanny..I are tired lil boy! How much money did I make?"...lol...Poppa get out your wallet. It was a good afternoon, but I really should have stopped after his first request because today I can hardly move from all the bending and stooping I did helping with the chore. My calf muscle and those behind my thunder thighs were screaming today!! OUCH ..dont move, OUCH that hurts...ohhhh please don't walk or bend...careful sitting. It was a real workout.....oh did I mention before the outdoor activity; that I had washed all the curtains in the master bath, bedrooms, dusted the baseboards, rehung the curtains, and other household chores..YEP I expended all my energy in one day!

This morning my Mom came out to pick up a few pecans and although all my body parts were screaming, I did the daughter thing and I helped. So maybe that loosened the screaming muscles up some, will tell you more tomorrow..LOL...

In the morning I have a date! Yes a wonderful expectation of a great day. I am going to spend it with two of my favorite people, my Dad's baby sister, and a cousin. We always have sooo much fun together, sooo much laughter, one liners, stories, tears, and prayers. I truly enjoy being with them and enjoy our outings too. Trouble is there are never enough of those outings. Will tell you about the day and perhaps share a picture or two....till then..hope your week is going as smoothly as mine...(well except for those screaming muscles...hehehe I had told my hubs that I had intentions of deep cleaning one room per day till I got it all done...when he got home I told him I may get one room cleaned per week or perhaps one room per month!....oh heavens the well laid plans of woman!)..Ha...

And another great thing..its raining!!!!Thank you Lord. Talk to you all soon!
